A really good way to see how things grow is to sow a bean seed in water on a window sill in the kitchen. Fold a piece of kitchen roll into a jam jar, add 3 cm of water to the jar and place your bean seed between the jar and the kitchen roll and watch what happens. It’s a slow process but you will see the seed crack and small plant start to stretch out foots and a bud. Eventually you will have grown a small bean plant which you can transplant into soil in a pot and later plant your bean plant in the garden.
