“Bring A Bride” Urges Garden Centre Bosses Promoting Charity Record Breaking Challenge

If you can get to the Haskins Garden Centre at West End Southampton on the afternoon of Sunday 10th May, preferably wearing, or with someone in a wedding dress, you could join the challenge to beat the current record of the most people wearing wedding dresses in one place.  The local Countess of Mountbatten Hospice hopes to break the record of 750 bridal dress wearers. Last year’s attempt fell short with just 160 being counted.

Haskins General Manager Peter Callaway and his Assistant Manager Ben Harrison say that they urge members of the public as well as those working within horticulture and Garden Centres across the south, to join the fun event.

“Anyone, of any age, male or female, can count towards the record providing they are in a wedding dress complete with veil or head dress,” said Peter. “Last year we were delighted to be joined by “brides” wearing traditional dresses from many cultures.”
