Having experienced a continuous growing in late evening shopping since the Haskins Garden Centre at West End near Eastleigh opened in 1996, an investment of £18,000 has been made to upgrade the 36 lights covering the car park.

Haskins General Manager Matt Hill said that the new lighting is not only brighter than the original, but reduces light pollution and can be computer controlled to reduce wasted energy.

“The new lighting has been complimented by customers and also contributes to our ongoing health and safety initiatives, and will reduced maintenance costs,” said Matt Hill. “That said, we are all looking forward to a bright future with longer evenings in the spring when we won’t need to switch them on!”
