Restaurant Assistant – 14.5 hours per week

The right candidate will need to be proactive, enthusiastic, energetic and a team-player.

Key responsibilities will include: food and drink preparation and service ensuring our high customer service practices are sustained.

The successful candidate will ideally have previous food service experience and be able to work in a fast paced environment serving our customers.

Previous catering/hospitality experience would be preferred, along with a proven and sound knowledge of customer service.

Thursday 11.30am – 8pm
Friday 5pm – 8pm
Saturday 12pm – 4pm

Restaurant General Manager

Salary negotiable dependent on experience

At Haskins Garden Centres we constantly strive to improve the service we offer our customers, that’s why the recruitment of our people is so important to us. We currently have the following exciting opportunity to join the team in our busy 400 cover restaurant in Ferndown.

You will be responsible for the entire restaurant operation. Inspiring and leading a large restaurant team and offering excellent customer service through effective product display and presentation in order to meet challenging company sales targets and objectives.

You will actively contribute towards the achievement of budgeted sales and margins including the overall control of the restaurant stock levels, payroll & overheads. You will be responsible for food safety and health & safety in the restaurant in line with company policies & procedures.

You will have excellent planning and prioritising skills and be able to demonstrate outstanding people and team management.

You should have previous large volume & high turnover catering/hospitality related management experience at a General Manager level.

Seasonal Retail Assistant – Outdoor Department

About You

The candidate will need to deliver exceptional customer service skills and be able to work at the required pace to ensure daily replenishment and recovery of stock.  You will need to be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and have confidence to work independently and as a team player. This job role can be physically demanding and involves some heavy lifting. The ideal candidate should have a basic knowledge of plant life and a desire to learn. Previous retail experience would be desirable.

About the role

You will be welcoming customers to the store and assessing their needs by providing assistance and information on all plants to include care tips, maintenance, suitability for space and taste. “Go the extra mile” to drive sales and achieve department goals. Maintain stock condition, presentation and stock levels with inventory control procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process POS (Point of Sale)
  • Sales ordering and till operation
  • Watering and general maintenance
  • Replenishing stock and merchandising
  • General housekeeping duties

Hours Available

Fixed term contracts for 20 hours per week which will include early mornings, late nights and weekends.
