A series of events and collections in the charity wishing well at the Haskins Garden Centre in Snowhill near East Grinstead have raised over £700 for the Crawley and district branch of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research to help beat Blood Cancers.

Darren Baker, the General Manager at Haskins, invited district branch Chairman Richard Wheeler and 10 year old Luca Canonici from Gossops Green, who is now in remission after being diagnosed at the age of 6 with acute lymphoblastic Leukaemia, to receive the cheque and an additional gift voucher donated by the centre to be used as a competition or auction prize.

Richard Wheeler thanked Darren Baker and his team for their support over the last 12 months: “The importance of funding research is proven by Luca who thankfully has received the necessary care and treatment to enable him to survive his acute leukaemia.  We thank all the customers and the team at Haskins who have generously supported our fundraising.”
