The annual Garden Centres Association awards for the South Thames region presented the Haskins Roundstone Garden Centre near Worthing as the Best Destination Garden Centre for the second year running. The Haskins team who attended a presentation in Southampton also returned with an additional 15 merit certificates for categories including catering, outdoor living, disabled facilities and toilets, check out area and customer service points, approach and car parking following the strict audits carried out by the GCA inspectors.
Nick Joad, the centre’s General Manager, said that he was delighted that the centre received the recognition from the association: “We are delighted to have maintained our top position following the GCA’s inspection. The 146 personnel deserve these awards which not only confirm that the centre is of a high standard but celebrates the professionalism of the team that bring the centre to life for customers with their excellent customer service, advice and knowledge.”
The Haskins Roundstone Centre, constructed on the 15 acre site of the original Roundstone centre in 2012, saw turnover reach £9.5 million last year.
There are 48 centres in GCA South Thames area, 30 are in the Garden centre classification and 18 are Destination Centres.
