Dorset Mind is an independent charity that has been supporting local people with mental health challenges since 1946. Working across Dorset, they offer support to anyone that faces a mental health problem, or is caring for those who are.

Dorset Mind aims to help people to cope with their mental health problems and to rebuild their lives. Mental health problems can affect anyone and at any time. Approximately one in four people will suffer from a diagnosable mental health problem during their lifetime. The most common forms of mental health problems are anxiety and depression, but there are many others, including bipolar, schizophrenia, eating disorders and obsessive compulsive disorder. Dorset Mind offer support groups, education and training for mental health problems. They also run a befriending service, provide signposting information, and run a phone/email helpline during office hours.
