Celebrations are taking place at Haskins after the garden centre group was acknowledged at this year’s Garden Centre Association South Thames regional awards.
The title of ‘Garden Centre of the Year’ in the Destination Garden Centre category was awarded to Haskins’ Roundstone centre. The Roundstone centre also scooped ‘The Barton Grange Trophy for Innovation and Creativity’, and first place for The GIMA Award for ‘Best Garden Products Retailer.’
Other award wins included first place for ‘Best Customer Service’ for Haskins’ Ferndown centre and joint first in the ifse Award for ‘Catering Excellence for Best Garden Centre Restaurant’ for Haskins’ West End centre.
Lisa Looker, brand director for Haskins Garden Centres, said: “We’re delighted to be recognised across multiple categories and it is a fantastic achievement for the group that all centres reached the highly commended category.
“The awards are testament to the hard work of our team as they continually strive to deliver the best service and provide the best experience for our customers.”
Nick Joad, centre manager at Haskins Garden Centre in Roundstone, commented: “We’re so proud to win the Garden Centre of the Year Award and I’m so pleased for my team. All their hard work delivering excellent service and consistently high standards has been recognised.”
David Lilly, centre manager at Haskins Garden Centre in Snowhill, commented: “It’s great to see Haskins recognised in so many categories and more importantly that all centres scored above 80% with Snowhill making that for the first time. I’m proud of my team for achieving this and we will continue to work hard to maintain this level.”
The winners were announced during a presentation on Wednesday July 26 at Castle Gardens in Dorset. The categories were inspected by Michael Cole, the previous managing director of Notcutts Garden Centres in Suffolk.
The Garden Centre Association represents nearly 200 garden centres nationwide, helping members to achieve high standards in customer service, plant quality and reliability.
