This month I had the pleasure to visit Parley First School to donate some plants, compost and pebbles.
Isabelle Brooks, the project coordinator, initially contacted me earlier in the year and asked for some help and ideas for a beach themed learning area for their Year 2 students.
Over the summer break, the school installed a gazebo along with some storage sheds that will be decorated to look like beach huts.
I came up with a planting plan of different grasses that would offer interest, movement and screening. I was sure to make my selection tough enough to withstand the day-to-day wear of 6 to 7 year olds!
The school will be planting the grasses over the coming weeks and they also have plans to rejuvenate their vegetable patch with the compost that we donated.
Haskins wishes them the best success and we look forward to seeing the completed project.
