A former pupil from Littlehampton Community School has been appointed as Haskins Roundstone Garden Centre’s Assistant General Manager. Mark Lephard, 38 from Worthing has joined the team of 150 staff at the garden centre following a managerial career at Sainsbury since 2008. His first job was with the Worthing Leisure centre where he gained his NVQ in Leisure Management and became a duty manager.
Nick Joad, the General Manager at the centre, says that Mark’s experience and interest in horticulture will enhance the service offered to customers.
“He will be a great asset to the centre and is also keen to support the charities we help every year as a local lad and long term member of the community.”
Since the Haskins Roundstone Garden Centre was redeveloped in 2012 as a £13 million new build project, the turnover has reached £8 million as a destination garden centre, complete with a 550 seat restaurant and a range of departments alongside the extensive range of plants, sundries and gardening equipment. The centre hosts a variety of community based events ranging from the annual sponsorship of the Angmering In Bloom contest to themed events for local charity events and collections.
