Winner selected in Haskins’ ‘Name the Rose’ competition

Crawley resident Jill Attree was announced as the winner of the Haskins Garden Centre’s ‘Name the Rose of the Year’ competition in July.

Jill entered the competition and suggested the name Serenity, which was selected as the winning entry.

Serenity is a lightly scented white rose with a double flower and dark, shiny leaves. It’s a hardy and healthy variety that forms a good bush of up to a meter in height. It will flower throughout the summer and lasts up to ten days when cut.

Nick Joad, general manager at Haskins Garden Centre in Roundstone, said: “We’re delighted that the competition was won by a visitor to our centre and we hope Jill enjoys her rose for years to come.”

A limited number of the Serenity roses are still available to buy from Haskins Garden Centre at £9.99.
