“ Sybil” Sue
Celebrates 60!
Colleagues and
customers at the Haskins Roundstone Garden Centre helped
Sybil Fawlty sound-a-like Sue Ross celebrate her 60th birthday
(on 28 June). Sue, who is well known for her vocal similarity
to the character played by Actress Prunella Scales in the
hit BBC comedy when making customer service announcements,
was presented with flowers, cards, a hamper and champagne.
“I was overwhelmed,” admitted
Sue, from Littlehampton, who has worked at the garden
centre near Worthing for 24 years. “My reception
desk was decorated and so I had many people congratulate
me on reaching the big 6 0!”
A special meal with
family and friends was held at the Newick Park
Hotel near Lewis. Sue has now
treated herself to a new Peugeot 107 – the
first brand new car she has ever owned.
