Garden Centre Gains Merit Awards

Staff at the Haskins Snowhill Garden Centre near Copthorne have been celebrating their success following an award ceremony hosted at Biggin Hill by the South Thames division of the Garden Centres Association. Out of 36 garden centres in the region, the team were presented two Merit Awards. The first was for Garden Centre Staff. This recognised the level of service, presentation and uniforms found during the GCA audit. The second was for the quality, range, display and presentation provided by the Outdoor Living section.

Assistant Manager Karen Jenkins said that the team were delighted to rate so highly in the judging: “The GCA competition ensures that garden centres continue to raise the benchmark in horticultural retail. We are judged not only by the GCA auditors but more importantly our customers who expect high standards of service and a quality product range.”

The Snowhill Garden Centre was acquired by the £30 million turnover Haskins Garden Centre group in October 2003. It now employs over 90 full and part time personnel.
