Garden Centre Gains Merit Awards

Staff at the Haskins Roundstone Garden Centre near Worthing have been celebrating their success following an award ceremony hosted at Biggin Hill by the South Thames division of the Garden Centres Association. Out of 36 garden centres in the region, the team were presented four Merit Awards. These certificates were issued by a team of auditors who recognised the high standards of the Garden Centre Staff, Customer Service Points, The Food Hall and the range of Growing Media.

Assistant Manager Mary Corcoran said that the team were delighted to rate so highly in the judging: “The GCA competition ensures that garden centres continue to raise the benchmark in horticultural retail. We are judged not only by the GCA auditors but more importantly our customers who expect high standards of service and a quality product range.”

The Roundstone Garden Centre was acquired by the £30 million turnover Haskins Garden Centre group in November 2000. It now employs over 70 full and part time personnel.
