From Papers to Plants

The 89 full and part time staff at the Haskins Snowhill Garden Centre have a new boss. Nick Joad has been appointed as General Manager to oversee the centre at Copthorne.

Julian Winfield, Chief Exec of Haskins Garden Centres, said that he was delighted that Nick has accepted the position due to his extensive experience in retail. Nick, from Eastbourne, started as a trainee manager with W H Smith 18 years ago. His previous position was as General Manager of the group’s store in Tunbridge Wells.

Nick Already admits that his own garden is looking more colourful since joining the experienced team at Snowhill: “It does not take long for the enthusiasm of the horticultural team to inspire the need to add different varieties so that a garden can be at its best in all seasons.”

The Snowhill Garden Centre was acquired by the £30 million turnover Haskins group in November 2003. Over 463 full and part time personnel are employed at the 4 Haskins Garden centres and at the head office based at Ferndown, Dorset.
