Haskins Director Chairs Horticulture Trade Association Group

Philip Evason, Buying Director at Haskins Garden Centres, has been voted by the Horticultural Trade Association, as chairman on the Retail Management Group. With membership including 80% of the UK’s growers, and over 2,500 garden retailers, manufacturers, and other associated businesses, Philip will now steer the group comprising of representatives of the retail sector as they consider and recommend policies relating to a wide subject range including training, legislation, research, trends and economic and environmental issues.

The new chairman has been a member of the group which meets 5 times a year since he joined Haskins in 2007. He says that he looks forward to supporting the group through the challenges faced by the horticultural retail sector over the next 12 months.

“ There are so many issues requiring in-depth analysis and consideration that will have a direct impact on the horticultural industry and the success of many businesses.” said Philip Evason. “I am particularly determined to enhance the supply chain and processes to benefit retailers and the wider membership of the Horticultural Trade Association.”
