Garden Centres Support BBC Tree O’Clock Free Tree Distribution

All of the Haskins Garden Centres are expecting a large consignment of tree saplings that will be made available free to the public and schools taking part in the BBC Tree O'Clock Guinness World Record Attempt that will take place across the UK. Encouraged by many features on national and regional TV programmes, it is hoped that a record number of trees (over 1 million) will be planted between 11am and midday on Saturday 5th December.

Louise Moir, Head of Marketing at Haskins, says that their 4 garden centres in the south have arranged with the Horticultural Trade Association for the free tree saplings to be made available for distribution from late November, ready for the record attempt.

“ We are expecting delivery of hundreds of the saplings to each garden centre which will be available to collect free of charge,” said Louise Moir. “We hope that as many people as possible will support this record attempt as it will have a positive, long term effect on our local environment and wildlife.”
