Roundabout Flows for Garden Centre Xmas Evening

A special Christmas Shopping Evening held by the Haskins Snowhill Garden Centre at Copthorne to help boost sales after months of low sales due to construction work of the new roundabout outside the centre was successful. Julian Winfield, the Chief Executive of Haskins Garden Centres, said that the English Themed evening devised by General Manager Nick Joad and his team, complete with food tasting, bell ringers from the Bells of Hammerwood and U3A Handbells, and fundraising for Children In Need attracted over 1200 shoppers.

“ We were pleased so see so many people who also had the opportunity to use the new roundabout for the first time,” said Julian Winfield. “We were delighted to welcome back so many of our regular customers with free refreshments.”

The company hopes that the centre can now regain some of the £500,000 in trading lost during the road works as traffic lights are expected to be only in operation at off peak times allowing better traffic flow.

Haskins team members Brenda Gillingham (2nd left) and Talia Sturt (2nd right) join the hand bell ringers.
