Christmas Fundraising Success for Worthing MENCAP

Thanks to the generosity of Christmas shoppers, the helpers and members of the Worthing MENCAP society raised £445 in just one day (Sunday 6 December) of collecting at the Haskins Roundstone Garden Centre. The money will contribute to the running costs of Buddys, the information centre and café operated by the charity on South Farm Road, Worthing, which opened 3 years ago.

Pauline Heryet, from Worthing MENCAP, said that with the support of the Community Band of Sir Robert Woodard Academy, the collection had exceeded previous years records.

“ We are very grateful to everyone who donated and helped,” said Pauline Heryet. “We hope that many of our new friends will have the chance to visit Buddys for coffee or a light lunch and see how the facility benefits our members with learning disabilities.”

Anyone wishing to help support Worthing MENCAP can either visit Buddys, or the website www.buddys.ukf.net or contact the charity on 01903 202030.
