Retail Assistant – Outdoor Department

Fixed Term Role March to September 2018

About You
The candidate will need to deliver exceptional customer service skills and be able to work at the required pace to ensure daily replenishment and recovery of stock. You will need to be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and have confidence to work independently and as a team player. This job role can be physically demanding and involves some heavy lifting. The ideal candidate should have a basic knowledge of plant life and a desire to learn. Previous retail experience and horticulture knowledge would be desirable.

Candidates will need to be flexible during the peak trading periods to work additional hours on weekends and Bank Holidays to include the Christmas and New Year period with opportunities to work part time shifts during the weekdays depending on availability.

About the role
You will be welcoming customers to the store and assessing their needs by providing assistance and information on all plants to include care tips, maintenance, suitability for space and taste. “Go the extra mile” to drive sales and achieve department goals. Maintain stock condition, presentation and stock levels with inventory control procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Process POS (Point of Sale)
Sales ordering and till operation
Watering and general maintenance
Replenishing stock and merchandising
General housekeeping duties

Hours Available: 30.5 per week as follows
Week 1
Sunday 8.30 – 5.30
Tuesday 9.00 – 6.00
Thursday 9.00 – 6.00
Friday 9.00 – 6.00

Week 2
Monday 9.00 – 6.00
Thursday 9.00 – 6.00
Friday 9.00 – 6.00
Saturday 9.00 – 6.00
