School Sunflower Growing Competition Launched

The Georgian Gardens Community Primary School in Rustington is celebrating the year of the Sunflower with high expectations. An inter-class competition to see who can grow the tallest Sunflower has commenced as seeds, supplied by the Haskins Roundstone Garden Centre, are now planted within the schools gardens.

Haskins’ General Manager Nick Joad presented the seeds to Teacher and Eco Co-ordinator Deirdre Carolin at the school with four of the competing pupils. Two Classes from year four, with the support of Deirdre Carolin, will be carefully watering and nurturing their seedlings in a bid to win £100 gift card for the school and £25 value gift card to  the overall grower of the tallest sunflower declared by judges!”

Nick Joad says that he looks forward to presenting the prizes in August.
