Snowhill plays host to a charity sun protection campaign for gardeners

A team from the Myfanwy Townsend Melanoma Charity were at Haskins Snowhill on Bank Holiday Monday to help raise awareness of the dangers of the sun while gardening.  The ‘Watch Your Back’ campaign, fronted by Charlie Dimmock and set up by Alan Titchmarsh has been set up to remind people of the importance of sun protection and regular skin checking.

The charity was founded by Harry Townsend, in memory of his wife who died of skin cancer aged 60.  His aim is to raise awareness of the condition and fund research into a cure.

Customers were given free bottles of sun lotion and leaflets giving advice and tips on keeping safe in the sun.
