Members of the Alzheimer’s Society in the South West dressed in Alice in Wonderland costumes for a Tea Party, designed to create further awareness of the support offered by the charity. Society Volunteer Anne Scaife, Services Manager Jo Malyon and Community Fundraising Manager Adrian Williams were joined for tea by more than 40 members of the public at the Haskins Garden Centre’s restaurant at Longham.
Adrian Williams said: “The Tea Party was a great success, not only did it raise valuable income to further the work of the Society but we were able to offer tangible support to individuals and families living with dementia. We really appreciate the fantastic support from the management, staff and customers of Haskins in Ferndown to help us reach people who may have been ‘bottling up’ their concerns.”
Simon Morris, General Manager at Haskins, said that he was pleased to offer the private Cedar room to the charity that his staff had voted to be their charity of the year.
