The role of Restaurant Assistant
To provide general assistance within the restaurant which enables us to exceed customer expectations and maximise all sales opportunities.

Commis Chef – Full Time

We are recruiting a Commis Chef on a Full-Time, Permanent basis, working 38 hours per week with alternate weekends.

Pay rate up to £12.19 per hour

The role of Commis Chef
Working 38 hours a week, you will be required to assist in the day-to-day running of a very busy production kitchen, supplying food for the restaurant in our garden centre. Duties will include the preparation of salads, soups, breakfasts, and lunch.

This role benefits from Sociable hours with no split-shifts as well as alternate weekends off plus a day off in the week and only one late night a week.

About You
Confident and outgoing, you will enjoy working with the public, as this role oversees our counter service, the carvery, pizza oven and patisserie counter.

Previous experience is not essential, training will be provided for the right person. An ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a close-knit team is essential as is a willingness to learn.

Chef De Partie

We are recruiting a Chef De Partie on a Full-Time, Permanent basis, working 38 hours per week with alternate weekends. Pay scale £24,705 to £28,250 DOE.

The role of Chef De Partie
Assisting with the day-to-day running of a busy production kitchen and providing high quality food from an agreed menu. You will oversee our counter service, the carvery, pizza oven and patisserie counter. A strong pastry background is also a requirement of this position.

Key responsibilities will include ensuring the highest standard of customer service is always delivered. You must be a Team player and support the rest of the kitchen team during a busy service.

Involving some heavy lifting this role can be physically demanding.

Goods In Assistant/Driver

We are recruiting a Goods In Assistant on a Full-Time, Permanent basis, working 38 hours per week with alternate weekends. Pay rate up to £11.17 per hour.

About You
The candidate will need to be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and have confidence to work independently and as a team player. You will need to be confident working with computer systems as you will be responsible for maintaining warehouse movement reports on a regular basis. You must be physically fit and able to lift substantial weights. A full clean driving license is essential and a HGV license would be desirable. You will need to understand security and health procedures that govern warehouse operations. Previous warehouse experience would be an advantage.

About the role
You will be reporting directly to the warehouse manager and will need a good eye for detail and be confident to do numerical calculations and tallies. Day to day warehouse duties include lifting, carrying and clerical administration. This role demands diligence and care to ensure that stock control systems remain accurate. You will be booking in deliveries, returning items to suppliers, preparing the delivery van, stacking and storing goods using warehouse equipment. Forklift and electric pallet truck experience would be an advantage, however full training will be given.

  • Ensure accuracy of deliveries
  • Ensure delivery forms are signed
  • Move goods to appropriate storage areas
  • Allocate storage space based on type and size
  • Quality control goods upon delivery
  • Ensure all information is recorded in logs
  • Comply to the company’s safety and security procedures
  • Record movement of goods using barcode scanners
