Haskins team members reach Top 10 in Garden Centre Association’s Rising Stars programme

Two members of staff at Haskins have reached the Top 10 in the Garden Centre Association’s Rising Stars programme. The GCA programme acknowledges rising stars within businesses, and each year, 10 candidates are selected from those nominated, to receive mentoring by experts in the gardening industry.

Sarah-Jane Toop, Assistant Team Leader at Haskins Garden Centre in West End has reached the Top 10, as has Mike Knight, Outdoor Team Leader at Haskins Garden Centre in Ferndown.

Sarah was selected for the final 10 after introducing a new lawncare campaign at Haskins, with an aim to increase customer understanding for looking after your lawn and ensuring that customers are buying the right products.

Sarah commented: “I’m very grateful for the opportunity to strengthen my business skills and create new relationships with like-minded people.”

Mike was selected for the final 10 after introducing a houseplant-focused gift bag which has been very popular with Haskins’ customers.

Mike commented: “It’s humbling to have been selected for the final 10, especially coming into the process with very little retail and horticultural knowledge. I’m grateful to Haskins for having faith in me and have learnt a tremendous amount by being part of the Rising Stars programme.”
