Travelling in large groups, most gardens are visited by House Sparrows. 🐦 🐦 🐦🎶🎵🎶.
Noisy and gregarious, Sparrows will eat anything they find, allowing them to successfully colonise anywhere.
If you'd like to attract these and other birds to your garden, place feeders higher up in trees or in tall shrubs so as to offer perches and some protection from predators. Along with some other shrub cover, they'll be constantly back all season long 🐦🐦🐦

One of the easiest vegetables to grow, potatoes are a rewarding way to get into gardening.
Using the new upright grow bags, they needn't take up much room either, making them suitable for a patio or balcony.
You'll need to 'chit' them first as this extends the growing period and leads to higher yields:
Place your potatoes in an empty egg box with the end that has the most eyes or buds uppermost.
Keep these in a cool, frost-free place with moderate light, such as an unheated room and avoid direct sunlight.
Sprouts will form within a few weeks and after about six weeks, shoots should be 5cm (2in) long and dark coloured.
Choose about four strong shoots and rub off the weaker shoots for early potatoes. There is no need to thin shoots for later crops
Plant up in mid-to late March in the ground or in a grow-sac and remember to 'earth up' regularly to increase your yields.
By growing early, mid and late season varieties you can enjoy fresh potatoes throughout the year!

Our starter plants are perfect for creating summer baskets and patio pots 🌸🌼🌺.
They're also a good project to help banish the winter blues and an affordable way of filling your garden with colour. Why not get the kids involved too?
They just need a little protection to get them through the remaining cold evenings but then they'll soon give you some colourful joy 😄

Buddleia is a fast-growing and undemanding shrub from China that attracts clouds of bees and butterflies in the summer with its long flowering heads.
Heavy pruning at this time of year helps keep them under control and produces new flowers on the fresh growth.
For the best results, we recommend taking established bushes down to about 50cm and pruning stems to an outward facing bud.

Add a touch of the exotic into your garden with our hardy palms!
Give them some protection from wind, and they will grow well anywhere in full sun or partial shade. Also ideal for pots, they provide a visual escape to tropical shores!
