Haskins welcomes Love Soul Choir for a sold-out charity performance
Haskins Ferndown has hosted a series of festive events in aid of Dorset-based service SPRING. The Christmas programme raised over £1000 for the University Hospitals Dorset NHS Charity.
On Wednesday evening, the Bournemouth-based Love Soul Choir provided contemporary arrangements of recognisable pop and soul hits for an audience of customers and staff. Haskins Ferndown also recently hosted a special Santa’s Grotto offering children the chance to meet Father Christmas, enjoy festive arts and crafts, and receive a small gift. All proceeds from these events were donated to SPRING, totalling over £1000.
The centre’s team members have arranged several fundraising activities for the charity over autumn, hosting an internal quiz night for staff, members of the charity, and Poole Hospital in November; while also taking part in the Run Bournemouth Supernova 5km in October.
Marc Etheridge, General Manager at Haskins Ferndown, said:
“Our chosen charity is nominated by Haskins’ staff and the Ferndown team recognise the important support SPRING offers bereaved parents and relatives in our community. Our staff and customers have enthusiastically supported all the events we have hosted in 2024, and the Love Soul Choir once again provided a brilliant show to get everyone into the festive spirit.”
SPRING works closely with medical professionals to provide a high level of care to parents and relatives that have experienced baby loss – at any stage of pregnancy, at or just after birth – whatever the circumstances and however long ago. Since being established in 1998, the service has evolved to help many families and relatives through such devastating times, offering monthly support meetings and counselling services.
Hayley Harris, Corporate Fundraiser at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Charity:
“Haskins is incredibly supportive of SPRING, their fundraising from wonderful events such as this continues to make such a difference for parents and relatives using the SPRING support services, we thank them all so much. It is a real pleasure to work alongside them in raising funds for our SPRING fund, which supports memorial events, memory jewellery, counselling services, furnishings and more.”
“Community fundraising is vital for sustaining our critical services in the local area. We are so thankful to Haskins Ferndown for their contributions and for every person who has donated so generously in 2024.”
