Haskins’ Forest Lodge Garden Centre has donated over £445 to its 2021 Charity of the Year, The Hunter Centre.

Throughout the past year, the Haskins Forest Lodge team held various fundraising events in aid of the local dementia charity, The Hunter Centre, including a Christmas Jumper Day. The team also asked for customers to make donations via the Charity Wishing Well, which was placed at the centre’s exit.

Elaine Clement, Operations Manager at the Hunter Centre, said:

“The Hunter Centre would like to thank Haskins Forest Lodge Garden centre for the team’s ongoing support. Funds raised will help us to continue to provide support to those living with Dementia.”

Haskins Forest Lodge chose to support The Hunter Centre last year as the charity has provided support to some staff members who have personally relied on its services. The Hunter Centre provides a day-care facility to support those living with dementia through a number of stimulating activities, which this donation will help to fund.

Sandra McGuigan, Forest Lodge’s Customer Service Leader, said:

“Each year we look to make a difference and help a local cause by selecting them as our chosen charity. Members of our team here at Haskins Forest Lodge have had first-hand experience of the amazing work the charity already does, so we wanted to help them in return by choosing The Hunter Centre as our Charity of the Year.
“The last two years have been difficult for everyone. Despite this, the brilliant fundraisers from The Hunter Centre remained positive, carrying out their invaluable work. I believe it is a great achievement that we were still able to raise a significant amount to help the charity continue the fantastic services they offer in our local community.”

Haskins Forest Lodge has chosen to continue supporting The Hunter Centre as its 2022 Charity Partner with various fundraising ideas already in the pipeline, including a raffle.
