Now celebrating her 20th Haskins Christmas, Michelle is here to share her tips for recreating our displays at home.
Michelle’s Guide to a Holly Jolly Tree
Fun, colourful and full of character, Holly Jolly is our novelty theme of the year! Classic Christmas reds and greens meet stripes, spots, and plenty of playful decorations.
Across our two displays, we’ve created different takes on the theme – one packed with traditional festive favourites and the other, a home to a family of mischievous mice.
Here’s how our team created the look!
The Fou
ndations – Tree Choice & Lights
For our Holly Jolly displays, we’ve used our, exclusive to Haskins, 9ft Pre-Lit Newberry Spruce Slim and 7.5ft Pre-Lit Dual Colour Newberry Spruce.
On our first tree, 360 red Premier berry lights have been swagged down the tree in a helter-skelter style, creating ribbons of red amongst the branches. For our second, we’ve added 360 warm white berry lights for an extra festive glow.
The Wow Factor – Festive Foliage
Eucalyptus-style stems with red berries are worked throughout both trees, softening the bold reds and greens and adding plenty of texture. A few metallic ivy picks dotted amongst the branches bring in an extra touch of Christmas sparkle.
The foliage continues right to the top of our second tree, where pine stems, berries and eucalyptus replace a traditional topper.
The Bells & Whistles – Baubles & Ornaments
Red and green lead the way for our baubles, creating a classic base for all the fun decorations to come!
Our first display is filled with presents, candy canes, hearts, mini Santas and little Christmas boots, before being topped with an explosion of candy cane picks.
Our second tells a whole Christmas story amongst the branches. Felt mice climb ladders through the tree, while ceramic mice sit in teacups alongside oversized felt trees and plenty more playful characters.
The result is traditional Christmas with a fun twist – bright, cheerful and guaranteed to make you smile!
