Safer Shopping at Haskins Garden Centres

Measures update

Our garden centres are allowed to remain open as essential retail but our restaurants will stay closed until further notice. You should not meet up with other households at this time.

As a business we take social responsibility very seriously and no more so than during this pandemic. We always follow government restrictions and closed our doors during the first phase of this pandemic. Later in the year, the government added garden centres to the list of essential retailers, along with DIY stores.

We believe that it has been acknowledged that garden centre centres bring considerable health and well-being benefits to people through gardening and as a result have been deemed to be on this list. In addition, it is acknowledged that garden centres tend to be open and airy places; two thirds of our own retail space is outside and we have invested heavily in social distancing protocols.

  • Customers are required to wear a face mask when visiting our centres
  • Use the sanitiser provided for both your hands and your trolley
  • Keep 2 meters apart from others
  • We request that shopping be limited to 30 minutes
  • Please shop individually
  • Please ensure you keep your children with you at all times

We have considerable safety measures in place to ensure social distancing at our centres and we ask our customers to wear a mask when visiting, unless exempted under the government guidelines. Only our Ferndown restaurant is open in accordance with the current Government’s Tier 2 restrictions.

We anticipate that there will sometimes be queues to get into our centres due to the capacity restrictions needed to maintain social distancing. We have installed electronic customer counters into our garden centres to provide us with accurate customer numbers.

Please note that our play areas will remain closed in line with the Government’s guidelines.

Guide dogs and service dogs only. No other dogs are allowed at this time whilst we are managing social distancing.

We have introduced new measures to allow for social distancing:

  • Customers are required to wear a face mask when visiting our centres
  • Use the sanitiser provided for both your hands and your trolley
  • Keep 2 meters apart from others
  • At this point in time, we request that shopping be limited to 30 minutes
  • Please shop individually
  • If you need to bring your children with you then please ensure they are with you at all times
  • We are restricting the number of customers in our centres to ensure social distancing of the required 2-meters, and have set up a queuing system to facilitate this
  • Follow the navigation markers on the floor to aid social distancing
  • Cleaning stations are available for customer use by each trolley bay
  • To reduce touchpoints, we ask that customers only touch items that they wish to purchase
  • We are only accepting card payments
  • Our changing rooms are currently closed
  • Do not enter our centres if you are feeling unwell

Please follow the instructions and advice from our centre team to help keep everyone safe.

The safety of our customers is paramount, and we will continue to monitor the situation closely. We will keep our approach fluid to ensure that any updates to our safety measures are carried out across our centres, if required, in line with the Government’s guidelines.

OUR RESTAURANTS ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED
